Two citizens of the Russian Federation will stand trial in Moldova for organizing illegal migration. The case against the two was sent to court, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the two received US$ 30,000 from six citizens of Uzbekistan for assisting them to illegally get to the U.S. The men camouflaged their illegalities as tourist services. In November 2018, the culprits helped the six citizens of Uzbekistan, two of whom were younger than 18, to illegally transit Georgia and Turkey with false passports. They were arrested during checks at the Chisinau International Airport when they intended to enter Moldova.
The Russian citizens face up to five years behind bars and will also be obliged to pay about 45,000 lei court costs.
