The Government is preparing the authorization of two photovoltaic power stations. The Strășeni power station, with a capacity of 50 megawatts, will be managed by a local company based in Rădeni commune. The 40-megawatt station in Telenești will be installed in Negureni commune, under the management of "Revenco Logistic" SRL, based in Chisinau municipality, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Energy, Moldova does not have the capacity to fully provide energy resources even to meet the energy demand on the right bank of the Nistru. However, the Republic of Moldova is a net importer of energy, but has not fully exploited the potential of renewable energy sources.
The authorities estimate that the urban heating power plants of "Termoelectrica" and "CET Nord" will provide about 60% of the total volume of electricity produced in the country.
The Costești hydroelectric plant produces 6.8% of the total volume of energy, the wind and photovoltaic plants - 32%, and biogas power plants and district heating plants of sugar factories - 1.5%.
The technical potential for electricity production in the Republic of Moldova is estimated at about 65 TWh, which can fully satisfy the primary energy demand on the country's territory.
