Two Moldovans aged 22 and 30 were arrested at the Chisinau International Airport on suspicion they committed thefts, IPN reports.
According to the Border Police, one of the men worked for a company that provides baggage handling services at the Airport, while the second man sold things stolen by the first from passenger baggage.
The men targeted only the flights going to Istanbul. They stole only small, but expensive things from the baggage, such as cellphones and watches. The border police identified a number of persons to whom stolen things were sold.
The two face fines of 32,500 to 67,500 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service or at most four years behind bars.
