Two persons died when the car in which they travelled was struck by a train running on the Moscow – Chisinau route on June 10. The accident happened near the railroad station in Donduseni, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from Moldova’s Railways, a Renault car in which there was the driver aged 65 and two passengers – a 40-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman – was hit by the Moscow – Chisinau train No. 342. As a result of the collision, the two men died on the spot, while the woman was rushed to the Donduseni Hospital in a serious condition. The train continued its way 35 minutes later.
There are stoplights and a warning device at that railroad crossing. An inspection was carried out there on June 6 and no deviation was found.
