Two MPs Flee PPCD Parliamentary Faction
The deputies of the parliamentary faction of the Christian People’s Democratic Party (PPCD), Zoia Jalba and Valentina Cusnir, announced on Thursday, 25 May, at the Parliament’s plenary session, about leaving the faction.
Zoia Jalba motivated her decision by the fact that there is no organization spirit within the faction and no attitude is taken in the case of primordial items discussed in the Parliament. She said she is criticized for opinions not matching the faction’s position. Jalba asked to be termed further as “unaffiliated deputy”.
At her turn, Valentina Cusnir said that she leaves PPCD factions as she was treated „neither democratically nor christianly” and as well for the fact that she expressed opinions that not always correspond to the faction’s. She also motivated her decision by the fact that she is not included in delegations leaving abroad, she was ordered which radio stations she „does not have to address” and how to vote.
The chairman of the faction, Vlad Cubreacov, was very surprised by the decision of the both deputies and noted that the members of the faction „take very calmly” this decision. At the same time, he rejected these charges, terming them as groundless. Cubreacov mentioned that at the Wednesday meeting of the faction, where the agenda of the Thursday parliamentary sitting in was discussed, the members of the factions made reproaches to these two ladies, and thinks that this fact should not serve as reason for such decisions.
At present the parliamentary faction of PPCD, as result of leaving of Jalba and Cusnir and, previously, by the deputy Ion Neagu, includes 8 persons.
