Two sportsmen from Moldova, Nicolae Mihalache and Andrei Cimpoaca, have won 6 medals in the VII International Wushu Championship that took place in St. Petersburg, Russia. Mihalache competed in such events like “classic fist”, Chang Quan style (long fist), long weapons – wooden staff (Gun shu), short weapons – sword (Dao shu), “eagle claw fist”- Ying Zhao Quan (Eagle style), traditional weapons - nine section whip (Zhiuzhe Bian), sparring – Duilian - with Andrei Cimpoaca. In turn, Cimpoaca tested his skills in “classic fist”, Nan Quan Style originating from south China, traditional fist – Zui Quan (Drunken Fist), traditional weapons – Zui Gun (Drunken Staff). Mihalache won two gold medals and two silvers, and Cimpoaca earned one gold and a bronze. The Championship was attended by 138 sportsmen from 6 countries.
