Two men died in traffic accidents on August 2 in the evening. Paulina Yakimovski, senior PR specialist of the Traffic Police Division, has told Info-Prim Neo that one of the men aged 74 was riding a bike on the Chisinau-Ungheni road. He wanted to make a left turn and was struck mortally by a Volkswagen Tranzit moving legally. A Ford-Tranzit minibus driven by a 30-year-old man overturned on the Chisinau – Comrat – Giurgiulesti road, not far from Ciucur-Minjir village, on a slope. The driver died on the spot. The first investigations showed he was speeding. Five persons were hurt in a road accident caused by the driver of a minibus running on route No. 10 in Chisinau. The accident happened on Miorita St at about 11pm. The minibus crashed violently into the back of a trolleybus that stopped at the dispatcher’s office. Five passengers from the minibus suffered fractures, wounds, dislocations and other injuries. Two persons were killed and 18 injured in 14 road accidents that happened in Moldova yesterday and last night. The traffic police fined seven persons for DUI, 73 drivers traveling unbuckled and 71 motorists who broke the traffic rules.
