Toma Gheorghe and Iacob Botezatu from Puhoi village of Ialoveni district made a number of accusations against candidate for MP on behalf of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) Petru Frunze. They accuse him of being a “liar” and of having ties with “bandits”.

In a news conference at IPN, Toma Gheorghe said Petru Frunze lies when he says that he didn’t beat him in 2006. He just returned from Moscow that autumn and they drank alcoholic drinks together with They ultimately had a fight. Petru Frunze took his precious necklace, a jacket and his wallet.

Iacob Botezatu also said that Petru Frunze threatened him he will show him who he is after the elections.

The PAS candidate is accused of colleting 170,000 lei from people and of not using this money according to purpose. Also, over 1.7 million lei was allocated from the budget for repairing eight roads, but the candidate films the road and says that he does this work.

The man noted that he told President Maia Sandu that Petru Frunze is a bandit, but she didn’t take any action. He said he wants all the people from the neighboring villages to realize that Petru Frunze only tells lies and cheats. “I go to my village with fear. Frunze should not be an MP,” stated Iacob Botezau.

Asked why he decided only now to make the accusations, the men said they wanted to give a news conference long ago and the fact that they speak about these cases in the election campaign is just a coincidence. They also noted that the news conference is not a political order, but is an attempt to make the people realize that Petru Frunze does not deserve the seat of MP.
