A minibus running on the municipal route No. 171 collided with a truck at the intersection of the Chisinau streets Calea Iesilor and Ghidighici at about 11am. According to preliminary reports, two persons were killed and four sustained injuries.
Head of the press service of the Chisinau Police Division Adrian Jovmir has told IPN that the driver of the truck and a passenger of the minibus died on the spot.
Extrication teams were called to take the bodies and those hurt out of the seriously damaged vehicles.
Petru Cravet, of the Chisinau Emergency Medicine Center, said that two men and two women were brought to the hospital. The victims are younger than 50 and suffered thoracic traumas, leg and backbone fractures and head injuries.
