Two pedestrians who were jaywalking died on Monday evening in road accidents in Anenii Noi and Chisinau, IPN reports.

The victim in the accident in Chisinau is a 77-year-old woman. She was crossing the street illegally and was hit outside the pedestrian crossing. After the accident, the woman was transported to the hospital, where she died from trauma. The accident occurred on Gagarin Blvd at around 07:00 p.m.

The tragedy in Anenii Noi occurred close to 09:00 p.m., in an unlit place. A 53-year-old man was struck by a car while he was moving on the roadway. The impact was so strong that the pedestrian died on the spot.

In both cases, none of the drivers involved were intoxicated, according to the results of the alcohol test.
