The former director and the former manager of the Balti branch of an insurance company were found guilty of misappropriation in considerable amounts. According to anticorruption prosecutors, the two embezzled about 113,000 from the company’s funds, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Prosecutor General’s Office says that in 2005-2009, the former director and former manager, who are father and daughter, misappropriated the money allocated by the company’s central office for remunerating an insurance agent that actually didn’t work for the given company.

The prosecutors established that the defendants falsified the signatures of the ‘agent’ in documents and thus illegally obtained a bank card issued in the name of this ‘agent’.

The ex-manager got eight years in jail, while the ex-director was absolved from punishment, but was admitted to a psychiatrist hospital with ordinary surveillance for treatment by constraint.
