A man and a woman, both aged 75, died on Wednesday in a road accident on the R-3 route, near Sociteni village of Ialoveni district. The man switched lanes and crashed his car into a minibus coming from the opposite direction, IPN reports.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, following the impact, the driver and his female passenger died on the spot. The driver of the minibus, a 47-year-old man, was transported to the hospital with various injuries.

An investigation is underway to find out the exact circumstances of the accident.
