Four TV stations have been fined 820 000 lei for broadcasting advertisements for spirits during the day. The members of the Audiovisual Council (AC) voted to sanction the channels at their meeting on February 28, IPN reports.

The decision to sanction the channels Premiera TV, Next TV, One TV and Star TV was taken in accordance with the Code of Audiovisual Media Services (CSMA) and the Regulation on Audiovisual Content, which prohibits any form of commercial communication on spirits between 06:00 and 22:00.

While reviewing the results, CA members took into account that all four TV stations are in the top 15 by audience.

The CA asked the media service providers to submit the video recordings, but they did not comply. For this, CA members also fined them 40 thousand lei.
