Trust Line of the City Hall Registered its First Call
The trust line of the Chisinau City Hall, recently inaugurated by the administration of the capital city, registered its first call. However, it was not referring to the signaling of a corruption case on behalf of its functionaries, the chief of the Local Public Administration Deparment (LPAD), Ludmila Buraca says. A citizen called on Monday, September 11, to clarify the situation regarding the open markets in the districts of the capital city, which sell food products.
The Chisinau City hall launched a trust line on the indications of the Government, in order to ensure a direct link with the citizens, to prevent and to fight corruption in municipal institutions. According to Ludmila Burlaca, such a trust line had previously existed in the city hall, but no person informed the local authorities about any corruption attempts from its civil servants.
The number 22-55-29 can be dialed by any citizen of Chisinau in order to signal any inadequate cases of abusive behavior, of brutal treatment or indifference from their part. According to the chief of LPAD, the City Hall hopes to receive calls not only regarding housing and communal problems, as was the case before, but also calls which will help the citizens regain their trust in the civil servant.
The trust line 22-55-29 is available daily between the hours 8.00 – 17.00. The persons calling do not have to present themselves. The calls are noted in a special register. In case of any notice of corruption or bribery attempts from civil servants, the first person to be notified about this will be the general mayor’s counselor on issues related to organization and work coordination to fight crime. The counselor, in turn, is to inform the general mayor and the specialized bodies in order to investigate the case.
