Trump’s victory will change rhetoric of relations between U.S. and Eurasian partners

The election of Donald Trump as President of the United States means changing of the rhetoric of the relations between the U.S. and the Eurasian partners, given the messages transmitted by this during the election campaign, considers programs director of the Foreign Policy Associations Victoria Bucataru.

Contacted by IPN, Victoria Bucataru said that among the main ideas transmitted by Donald Trump by his speeches was the identity crisis experienced by the United States and the efforts that he will make to rebuild the American nation. These messages enjoyed support because the migration crisis reached considerable proportions and managed to cause a state of uncertainty among the population.

“Thus, we can presume that the policy pursued by Mister Trump will be more radicalized and populist, focused on the internal policy and the review of the principles of cooperation with the Eurasian partners in terms of security,” stated Victoria Bucataru.

As regards Eastern Europe, this area will be influenced by the redefining of the U.S,’ foreign policy towards the big international players. An individualized approach will be thus avoided and the tactic will depend rather on the conjuncture and dominant political factors.
