Trolleybus route toward Agrarian University to be possibly launched next week
The trolleybus route toward the Agrarian University is not yet operational, although the interim mayor, Vasile Ursu, has promised within a joint meeting with President Vladimir Voronin in May, that the route would be launched on June 1.
The head of the Transport Municipal Department, Veaceslav Tsarna, declared for Info-Prim Neo that, at the beginning of the next week, the Municipality is to decide upon this route. According to Mr. Tsarna, as a preview, the route linking Chisinau’s downtown and the Agrarian University will have the number “29” and 4 trolleybuses will initially circulate on it.
Though, the fitting out works from the area of the Agrarian University are still to be continued even after the route is opened.
About 30 million lei were spent to build the route and its facilities, such as a dispatcher booth, the illumination network, etc. Other 30 million lei are expected to be spent for stopping soil erosion, fitting out the waste terrains neighboring the route and of the crossing of Petricani and Mihai Viteazul streets.
The route’s construction works were initiated in September 2005.
