“Trigon”- top band at the International Jazz Festival in Romania
Over 80 jazz musicians will gather on Thursday, July 13, in Semenic Mountains of Romania for four days of concerts and jam-sessions at the 10th edition of the International Jazz Festival in Garana, informs Info-Prim Neo quoting the Romanian press.
According to the organizers of the event, Marius Giura, the top musician of the festival is the greatest jazz violinist of all times and the greatest French jazzman, Jean-Luc Ponty, whose name figures on more than 100 albums since 1957 until nowadays. As well on the poster of the festival Aura Urziceanu with a recital together with her husband, the percussionist Ron Rully is presented.
”Also a top band is “Trigon” from the Republic of Moldova, considered by many specialists the best European band of the moment”, Giura specified.
For the first time within the festival three American jazz bands will perform but the traditional guests of the festival also will be present. Each concert costs 15 (new Romanian) lei per person.
To reach directly the festival is possible only through Resita, 30 km far away. Resita-Garana Bus courses will be organized. The organizers announce that the pensions and hotels of Garana are already full, but it is possible to find some places nearby Garan, in Semenic, Crivaia or Valiug. As well, on the road before entering Garana, on 4 or 5 km, is possible to install over 1000 tents.
