Transporters from Moldova request the Tripartite Commission Government-Syndicates-Patronates to raise the tariffs for transportation because of the recent grow of the prices for fuels. The executive director of the Transporters’ Union, Eugen Datco declared for Info-Prim Neo that the Government premeditatedly delays the approval of the transport tariffs calculation Methodology that has been elaborated in May last year and the Ministry of Transport and Highway Management refuses to raise the tariffs without the Methodology. Datco specified that the transporters can not activate with loses, because at present, expenses for fuel represent more than 70% of the returns. He said those 30% are not enough for paying for the work, repairing, and purchasing new transport units, fact “that can kneel down the area”. The representative of the transporters declared he understands the fact that the population does not have at the moment the necessary incomes in order to pay fully for the offered services. That is the reason why partial increase of the tariffs is solicited, which could permit maintaining alive the area.
