Transnistria man strangles lover with her dress
After having a romantic relationship with a Ukrainian woman for two weeks, a man from the Transnistrian region killed her, garroting her with her own dress. The murder was committed in Odessa city, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ukrainian press.
The body of the 35-year-old woman was found on a street in Odessa. According to investigators, the two had a quarrel and the man hit the woman with a stone on the head. Afterward, he strangled her.
The man was staying in Ukraine illegally. He crossed the border as he was wanted in Moldova for other offences. The woman was native of Lugansk region and came to Odessa to look for a job.
The man told the police that the victim had sexual relations with him voluntarily. But during a row, she threatened him she would return to her husband and tell him she was raped.
The woman had two children aged 7 and 3. If found guilty, the man would be imprisoned for up to 15 years.
