Training on consolidation of water data centre organised within Moldovan-French project
The Moldovan-French project Consolidation of Centre of Date on Waters organises training on March 22-29 to teach the French management of databases on water resources to workers of the centre of data on waters and partners of the project.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, the NOPOLU system, a tool of management of water basins that the French Institute of Environment uses to administrate its own database on waters, was studied at training. This is a system that uses data and indicators on water, management of monitoring networks, urban or agricultural flow of water pollutants and quality of rivers.
This project is being implemented since April 2005 with the technical support of the French government. Its budget for 2005 was 22,000 euros, including 19,000 euros in the French contribution. The main goal of the project is to consolidate the activity of the centre of data on waters and implementation of an information system via NOPOLU. Another objective of the project is to improve the quality of data on monitoring and statistics and modernisation of the process of collection, processing and publishing of information about European and international standards.
Taking part in the training are specialists of the Central Service of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, State Ecological Inspectorate, State Weather Service, State Association of Production for Geological Exploitations of Moldova AgeoM, Republican Concern for Water Management Apele Moldovei, and the National Centre of Preventive Medicine of the Health Ministry.
The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources will host a seminar on March 27 on results of the project.
