Traian Basescu returns to Cotroceni
Traian Basescu is returning to Cotroceni. According to the final results of the July 29 referendum, which were announced on Wednesday by the Central Electoral Bureau, the turnout in the referendum on the dismissal of Romanian President Traian Basescu was 46.24%, reports Info-Prim Neo.
The Central Electoral Bureau (CEB) announces that 87.52% of the participants voted for the dismissal of Traian Basescu, and 11.15% were against, reports Info-Prim Neo.
The difference of the turnout coefficient between the data presented on Monday, after 99.97% of the results were processed, and the data provided on Wednesday, after the verification of all the ballots, is of only one hundredth. The percentages of citizens who voted for and against the dismissal of Traian Basescu remain unchanged.
The 14 polling stations in Moldova hosted roughly 1% of the total number of eligible voters, who reside within our country.
The CEB data is up for confirmation by the Constitutional Court of Romania.
President of Romania Traian Basescu was suspended from his position on Friday, July 6, with the vote of 256 MPs. At least 50%+1 of Romanian citizens should’ve participated in the referendum for it to be valid.
