As of today, road traffic cameras across the country will also detect offenses aimed at not wearing seatbelts and using a mobile phone while driving, IPN reports.

The General Inspectorate of Police advises all drivers to strictly obey road traffic rules: "It is the responsibility of every driver to have his seatbelt fastened while driving and to focus his attention on the road and not on his phone".

According to the Contravention Code, a driver who does not fasten his seatbelt or uses his cell phone while driving is fined 450-600 lei and sanctioned with three penalty points.
