Trade Unions require to government to set certain compensations due to increase of gas tariff
The Confederation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Moldova (CSRM) will require to government to draft a decision project regarding the compensation for vulnerable categories of the population of additional expenses related to increase of gas tariff.
CSRM chairman, Petru Chiriac, said “the increase of gas tariff will lead to increase of prices to food goods, drugs, industrial goods, thermal energy, trade unions should be consulted by the National Agency for Energy Regulation while taking the decision to increase gas tariff”. Or this thing, Chiriac noted, was necessary in case when “we tend to be considered a law-based state,” or at least this item should be discussed within the tripartite commission government-trade unions-employers.
Asked if Employers’ organisation would make any proposals to government, in order to protect businessmen’s interests, Petru Chiriac said that for the moment the Employers “are silent”. The same fact was confirmed by the chairman of the National Confederation of Employers, Leonid Cerescu, in a previous discussion, when he has mentioned that for the moment the enterprises have to find on their own ways to compensate the expenses related to increase of gas tariff.
Demanded to confirm this information, according to which, during Friday meeting, 24 February, of the tripartite commission government-unions-employers it will be discussed items regarding solving of the problems generated by natural gas increase, Chiriac denied this fact, mentioning that this question should be examined on 6 March, during the meeting of the permanent bureau of the National Commission for collective consultations and bargaining.
According to him, on Friday meeting, 24 February, of the tripartite commission it shall be approved the items regarding the implementation of the State program of Business Development, program on revival of balneal-sanatorium system. There also will be discussed the way of providing individual food allocations for employees of trade facilities.
