Tourists travelling on the Wine Route to Romania to visit Moldova
Foreign tourists who travel on the Wine Route to Romania could also visit Moldova for a day or two, if this will be included in the European tourist Wine Route. Negotiations on this were held by a Moldovan delegation at the ITB-2007 International Tourist Fair, recently held in Berlin.
According to the National Association of Tourist Agencies chairman, Nicolae Platon, Moldova has high chances to be included into the itineraries of this kind after the annulment of the visa regime for European citizens. Moldova’s including is also depending on the interest of the big companies for Moldova, because this route aims at countries with great wine traditions and is managed by the biggest European tourist companies.
Platon says that during the Berlin fair Moldova made contact with several big companies in order to establish special relations. “Planet Travel”, which is one of the largest European tourist companies, expressed availability to include Moldova in its tourist itineraries.
The Berlin Tourist Fair was held in the period from March 7 to 11 and brought together 12.3 thousand companies from 184 countries. The exhibition was visited by more than 177 thousand persons. Moldova has participated with a joint stand gathering companies like Leogrand Hotel & Convention Center, Solei-Turism, Arcodesinc, Trapeza-Tur, Simexim-Tur were present.
