Tofilat accuses Marian of treason, while the latter accuses him of electoral PR.

Sergiu Tofilat, a member of the Supervisory Council of Moldovagaz, says he is curious about how the directors of National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) and Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) member of parliament Radu Marian, along with Gazprom and pro-Russian propagandists, are defending the leadership of Moldovagaz. "This smells like treason. The list of 'lawyers' is not complete; the country needs to know its 'heroes,'" Tofilat wrote on Facebook. Radu Marian's reaction was quick, stating that the attacks against him had no rational basis. "I can only assume that, using his position as a state representative at Moldovagaz (for which he is paid over 150,000 lei per month), he is trying to do political PR before the parliamentary elections", the wrote, IPN reports.

Radu Marian claims that he has long known Sergiu Tofilat as a rational person who presented well-argued positions in the energy sector, but his recent statements are absurd and even hysterical. "Sergiu Tofilat proposed a legislative initiative to establish a special administration at Moldovagaz by ANRE. I clearly explained to him this summer that such a project should be initiated by the Ministry of Energy through the Government to go through all public consultation stages. Mr. Tofilat collaborates well with the minister and knows this. And no, it doesn't take 6 months for an initiative from the Government to be approved (as Tofilat falsely claims). If it is urgent and necessary, an initiative can be approved in the government in two weeks", said Radu Marian.

According to him, another false piece of information promoted by Tofilat is that Moldovagaz cannot purchase gas because of the interim administration. "Tofilat knows very well that Moldovagaz, under interim leadership, purchased natural gas on November 14 worth 17.04 million euros. So, what's the urgency?" the member of parliament mentioned.

He also stated that Sergiu Tofilat is trying to do political PR before the parliamentary elections. "Mr. Tofilat, vice-president of another political party, seems to believe that launching accusations against a government representative will gain him electoral sympathy for his political ambitions this summer. By the way, Mr. Tofilat is one of those who insisted that no natural gas should be purchased during the summer when prices were much more reasonable, and I get the impression that he is trying to save his own skin and invent culprits. It is absolutely unacceptable for a person who should represent the state's interests in relation to 'Gazprom' to weaken the position of the Republic of Moldova through such unfounded accusations, especially if done for electoral reasons", Radu Marian added.
