Tiraspol rejects gas supply via Nationally authorized Authorities, BPR

Chisinau proposed viable options to overcome the current energy crisis, including agreeing on and implementing alternative mechanisms for natural gas supply to the Transnistrian region. However, Tiraspol rejected the crisis-resolution mechanisms proposed by Chisinau, the Bureau for Reintegration Policies (BPR) noted, IPN reports.

At Chisinau's initiative, a technical working meeting was held on Friday at the OSCE Mission headquarters in the city of Bender, involving energy experts from both banks of the Dniester River.

"Chisinau proposed viable options to address the current energy crisis, including agreeing on and implementing alternative mechanisms for supplying natural gas to the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova via nationally authorized authorities and in compliance with existing regulations," the Bureau for Reintegration stated.

Unfortunately, the institution noted, Tiraspol displayed a lack of constructive attitude and erroneous interpretations, demonstrating an inability to resolve pressing issues positively in the interest of residents on both sides of the Dniester River.

Tiraspol leader Vadim Krasnoselski accused Chisinau authorities of hindering gas supply to the Transnistrian region and called on President Maia Sandu to do everything possible "to allow gas to enter the left bank of the Dniester." In response to these statements, the Presidency clarified that Chisinau does not oppose and has never opposed the supply of gas to the left bank of the Dniester under existing legal conditions. On the contrary, Chisinau authorities have provided and continue to provide every opportunity to ensure this happens as quickly as possible.
