Tiraspol authorities to allot 200m rubles for anti-crisis measures
The Tiraspol administration has announced that it will allocate 200 million rubles (246 million lei) for implementing anti-crisis measures. Officials of the Transnistrian ministries and departments say the rights of the citizens top the list of priorities. The authorities will make effort to pay salaries, pensions and other social benefits in time.
Measures have been taken to simplify the procedures and cut the costs of services provided to enterprises by 30%. These services include mainly the sanitary-veterinary, standardization and metrology, certification and other services.
Production volume in Transnistria in November made up only 64% of the average for this year. Elena Cernenko, the economy minister of the region, anticipates that the companies will experience a drastic reduction in revenues during February-April 2009.
