Three pilot projects of renewable energy communities are to be implemented in the Republic of Moldova by the end of 2027, the Ministry of Energy announces. These initiatives will provide nationally applicable models, IPN reports.
"Energy communities are a crucial element of the transition to green energy, offering practical integrated solutions for reducing energy vulnerabilities, lowering costs borne by consumers and actively involving citizens in the process of energy production and consumption", State Secretary Carolina Novac told a workshop organized by the German Energy Agency.
The official noted that the Energy Ministry has made progress in developing a legislative framework for the development of renewable energy communities. The National Energy Regulatory Agency is to adopt a regulation that will set clear rules and procedures for their management.
"By the end of 2027, three pilot projects will be implemented that aim to demonstrate the economic, social and technical viability of renewable energy communities, providing applicable models for nationwide implementation", the secretary of state emphasized.
"We are on the right track to build a more sustainable, affordable and efficient energy system for all Moldovan citizens", concluded the official.
