Three policemen from the Ministry of Internal Affairs were dismissed for interfering in “Salun case”.
Several employees of law enforcement bodies are suspected of conspiracy with criminal group of „Salun”
According to the deputy minister of Internal Affairs, Valentin Zubic, those three employees of the Center for combating trafficking in human beings, including the deputy head of this body, were dismissed from the Ministry of Internal Affairs after it was proved that they were covering a trafficking in human beings criminal group, which was headed by Alexandru Coval, nicknamed “Salun”. According to Zubic, in this case also employees of the Prosecution office and Intelligence Service are included, and the list of employees of law enforcement bodies involved in this network is not complete.
Zubic says that a judge is accused of corruption, because he set “Salun” free on the base of a bail in exchange for MDL 80 thousand. Further, the Appeal Court annulled this decision and prolonged the arrest term for Coval, who was arrested on the left side of Nistru. A special commission investigates this case.
The deputy minister of Internal Affairs declared that also 10 members of the criminal group are arrested and investigated, including Salun’s wife and son. 28 penal proceeding were intended against them for trafficking in human beings, including minors, and for illegally holding weapons.
