Athletes Vladimir Letnicov and sisters Zalina and Marina Marghiev have qualified for the finals of the tripe jump and, respectively, hammer throw competitions at the European Athletics Championships, Info-Prim Neo reports. Letnicov showed a result of 16.94 meters, which brought him the 5th place in qualifying group B, enough to secure a spot for him in the final, which will take place on Thursday in Barcelona. Sisters Zalina and Marina Marghiev will also be in Barcelona, for the hammer throw final, after managing results of 69.22 and 67.84 meters, respectively, in the qualifications on Wednesday. Another Moldovan representative, Olga Cristea, missed her chance to run the 800m final, after showing 2 minutes 2.31 seconds in the qualifications. This week Oxana Juravel and Ion Luchianov are also to dispute their places in the 3000m steeplechase final.
