Three Moldovan athletes will compete today, September 8, at the Paralympic Games in Paris. These are Ion Basoc and Oleg Crețul, who will contend in para judo, and Larisa Marinenkova, who will compete in the final of the para powerlifting event, IPN reports.
Ion Basoc will enter the competition the first. He will contend in the quarterfinals of para judo, in the +90 kg J1 class. Ion Basoc will meet Daniel Knegt of the Netherlands starting at 10:54 a.m., Chisinau time.
Oleg Crețul will contend in the 90 kg J1 class. His opponent has not been decided so far. He will fight in the para judo quarterfinals starting at 11:42 a.m., Chisinau time.
Larisa Marinenkova will fight for a medal along with seven other para-athletes starting at 01:00 p.m.
The Paris Paralympic Games are taking place from August 28 to September 8, 2024.
