The Ciocana Prosecutor’s Office finished the investigation and sent to court the criminal case against three men who accused of murder. The three were charged with killing a businesswoman in front of the apartment building where she lived last yearend, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the aggressors planned the crime beforehand. They collected information about the woman’s business, her lifestyle and the way she gathered the money from the fish selling points she owned. In the evening of December 16, the three waited for the victim near her apartment building. They wanted only to steal her bag, but the woman put up resistance and was thus fatally stabbed in the chest. The victim was 35 and left a five-year-old child.

There were money, golden jewels and valuable things in the bag, assessed at over 93,000 lei. The police arrested the three suspects in January. They are from Ialoveni district and are aged between 33 and 35. They have a criminal record and face up to 20 years in jail or life imprisonment for murder, robbery and illegal gun keeping and bearing.

Contacted by IPN, press officer of the Prosecutor General’s Office Maria Vieru refused to provide details about the native place of the suspects, arguing this can affect the presumption of innocence. The men are under arrest.
