Thousands of petitions to Parliament. Citizens complain about problems in justice and agriculture

Alleged violations of the right of free access to justice and proposals to amend the legislation are among the topics raised by citizens in petitions and verbal requests to Parliament. The number of applications reached 4,336 last year, by 579 more than in 2023. Most of the requests were sent by residents of Chisinau and of the Transnistrian region, IPN reports.

Citizens from the country and abroad complained about possible problems related to agriculture, infrastructure development and the work of local and central public authorities.

Most of the petitions were signed by residents of Chisinau municipality – 44%, locals from the left bank of the Nistru – 17%, from Râșcani district – 5% and from Orhei – 3.5%.

The petitions were mainly examined by the Commission on Economy, Budget and Finance, followed by the Commission on Legal Affairs, Appointments and Immunities and the Commission on Social Protection, Health and Family.

Petitions formulated verbally or in writing can be submitted to the legislative body. Petitions can also be sent online to petitii.parlament.md.
