On the weekend of May 14-15, the tourist trolleybus will have a thematic route dedicated to famous couples from Chisinau. The event is staged by the Chisinau City Hall in connection with the International Day of Families. The trip is designed to promote tourist attractions and to familiarize the citizens with the biographies of famous personalities who contributed to promoting the image of Chisinau city at international level, IPN reports

“The development of the city “from white stone flowers” was influenced by a number of famous families and couples from Chisinau, such as: Mihail and Elizaveta Vorontsov, Alexandru and Olga Plămădeală, Cristina and Alexandru Bernardazzi, Constantin and Iulia Mimi, Queen Natalia Keshko-Obrenovich and King Milan I of Serbia, Xenia Vincentini and Sergei Korolev, Ecaterina and Nicolae Ivanov, Maria Cebotari and Aleksandr Vyrubov, Emil Loteanu and Svetlana Toma, Elena Casso and Gheorghe Donici, Iulia and Alexandru A. von Gheiking, Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici, Grigore and Raisa Vieru, Glebus Sainciuc and Valentina Rusu-Ciobanu, Natalia Dadiani and Giorgi Beglari, Carol Schmitd and Maria Cristi”, said the municipality.

The thematic route by the sightseeing trolleybus will have the following schedule:
12 noon – trip in Russian;
2pm – trip in Romanian;
4pm – trip in Russian;
6pm – trip in Romanian.

The route starts from the Triumphal Arch in central Chisinau. A trip costs 30 lei.
