Today ends the 60-day period for which the state of emergency was established. According to Prime Minister Dorin Recean, the state of emergency will not be extended for the time being, IPN reports.
The head of the executive said that at this stage the necessary conditions have been created for gas supply to the Transnistrian region, without the need for a state of emergency. According to Recean, the measure was necessary in order to be able to buy gas and electricity, as Russia has stopped gas supplies to the Transnistrian region.
The Prime Minister says that several important decisions were taken today at the meeting of the Commission for Exceptional Situations. Thus, 1.2 billion lei from several partner countries will be allocated to the compensation fund to cover the increase in heating bills. Citizens enrolled in the compensation program will receive for the heating season, including for the month of March, the monthly monetary aid from 500 to 1400 lei.
According to the decision of the CSE, the 30 million euros of emergency humanitarian aid from the European Union will be transferred to the account of Energocom, which during this period bought from its own funds gas for the left bank for 20 million euros and electricity for the right bank for 10 million euros.
"We have taken these decisions today, through the SSC, so that citizens can benefit without delay from the European Union's aid, which was offered specifically to prevent a security and humanitarian crisis deliberately provoked by the Russian Federation," says Dorin Recean.
The state of emergency has been in place since December 16, as proposed by the government. The Prime Minister is due to appear before the full parliament next week to present a report on the 60-day state of emergency.
