The state commission for organising events dedicated to 15 years of independence was created
The state commission for organising the events dedicated to 15 years of independence of Moldova met on Thursday, 23 March, in first meeting to discuss general work principles. At the proposal of Vladimir Voronin, it was created a working group, which shall get and systemise the proposals for the action plan until 10 April.
According to presidency press release, the head of the state noted that celebrating a decade and a half of independence of Moldova gives a special opportunity to point out and think over the real content of the notions of independence and sovereignty. „There is the necessary context that our affirmation and strengthening of our identity as state to be transformed into a united idea for all citizens of Moldova, regardless of their ethnic or language representation”, Moldovan leader noted.
Vladimir Voronin supported the opinions according to which the actions shall cover a larger area of social fields. He underscored that celebrating 15 years of independence does not have to limit, to space, to capital and regional centres, and as time – to 27 August. „The Independence Day is not only a holiday of the current leadership, of the political class, but of all citizens, who have to get involved deeply, under different forms, and holiday events”, Voronin said.
President Vladimir Voronin signed the decree on creation of the Stet Commission for organising the events dedicated to 15 years of independence of on 23 March.
Government and authorities of public administration shall give to commission the necessary support for organising its activity.
The commission is lead by the head of the state, and it has as members over 30 persons of the legislative, executive, local public authorities, as well as personalities of culture, science, and mass media. The ex-presidents Mircea Snegur and Petru Lucinschi take part in this commission.
