The Russian Federation Preserves its Policy Regarding the Moldavian and Georgian Wines

The state sanitary doctor of the Russian Federation, Ghenadie Oniscenco, says there is no reason to repeal the decision regarding the imports of the Moldavian and Georgian wines. He made this declaration during the interviews offered to some Russian TV and radio stations. According to Oniscenco, the verifications operated by the independent experts regarding the quality of the wines produced in these countries are not representative. More, he states the samples presented to Rospotrobnadzor correspond to all standards whilst the controls in the specialized stores prove the opposite. “We prohibited the wine imports from these countries and at the present moment there is no reason to repeal this decision”, declared Oniscenco. Russia prohibited the commercialization of the wines from the Republic of Moldova claiming the wines are not qualitative and contain noxious substances. Analysts and politicians from Chisinau and international experts as well qualify this action as political, caused by the introduction of the new customs regime at the Moldo-Ukrainian border.
