The Republic of Moldova has 21 de millionaires
The Republic of Moldova, the poorest country from Europe, has 21 “millionaires”. In Moldovan lei, of course, according to the news365.ro portal, cited by Info-Prim Neo.
Those 21 declared to the State Fiscal Service that in 2005 they had incomes of more than MDL 1 million, an approximate USD 75 thousand. The number of millionaires increased compared to 2004, when only 13 Moldovan had incomes of MDL 1 million. Yet the millionaires make up only 0.03% from the overall Moldovans that presented their income declaration to the Fiscal Service.
The cited source doesn’t mention the number of millionaires in United States dollars or in the European currency.
According to the cited source, the number of persons with incomes between MDL 500 thousand and MDL 1 million also increased from 41 to 49. Another 136 persons declared they had incomes between MDL 250 and MDL 500 thousand (compared to 102 persons in 2004). Incomes lower than MDL 250 thousand, but bigger than MDL 100 thousand have declared 1215 individual persons, compared to 796 persons from 2004.
Yet the biggest part of Moldovan tax payers, over 71.9 thousand or 89.7%, declared that last year they had incomes of under MDL 100 thousand (USD 7.5 thousand).
These data was published by the Moldovan Fiscal Service after 73.2 income declarations from 2005 were processed, and the overall gross income of individual persons in 2005 was MDL 1 billion 645.63 million (compared to MDL 1 billion 490.15 million from 2004). The overall tax income received was MDL 158.31 million (by 6.4% higher than in 2004).
