The release of Anton Malyshev from the custody of Transnistrian structures, after two years of detention, is part of the conditions imposed by Chisinau and fulfilled by Tiraspol. The information was confirmed by Mariana Sari, a spokeswoman for the Reintegration Policy Office, IPN reports.
A press release from the Office states that the situation of Anton Malyshev was closely monitored by the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration and the Office for Reintegration Policy and all necessary actions were taken to restore his rights and freedoms.
"This success is also due to the efficient cooperation with the Representation of the People's Advocate's Office in Varnița, the European Union Delegation in the Republic of Moldova, the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova and other international partners, which played a decisive role in the resolution of this case," the source said.
Chisinau is insisting on the release of all Moldovan citizens who continue to be illegally detained in the Transnistrian region, including Ermurachi M., Menzarari S., Dimov Al., Zaharov O., Kuzmiciov Gh., Pogorletchii V., Derebcinschi S.
"Every person must be guaranteed the right of access to justice, carried out in accordance with the law in courts established by law," the statement added.
The Promo-LEX association, which assisted Anton Malyshev, says that he was abducted on February 8, 2023 and subjected to a criminal trial in Tiraspol, and was subsequently detained in inhumane conditions. "During this period, his health seriously deteriorated without access to adequate medical care. The poor conditions of detention led to drastic weight loss and deterioration of his general condition", Promo-LEX notes.
The release of political detainees is one of Chisinau's demands that were at the basis of the agreements to allow gas deliveries to the Transnistrian region. "We allow this transit, and Tiraspol will take several actions to demonstrate openness: the release of political detainees, solving the problem of the high school in Ribnitsa, keeping Moldovan public television in the grid, removing the checkpoints installed in 2022 (33, 11 of which are still active)", Prime Minister Dorin Recean pointed out.
