The interim Mayor of Chisinau, Vasile Ursu and the president of the Republic of Moldova, Vladimir Voronin intends to initiate the construction of the “Trei Iezi Village” on 27 August, on the occasion of the 15th celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova. The idea of the “Trei Iezi Village” project is discussed by the central and local authorities for about 15 years, but until now nothing tangible was undertaken, inclusively politically or economically. The author of the project, the head of the municipal Department for culture, Iulian Filip, declared for Info-Prim Neo that the intention to implement the project belongs to the administration of the late Nicolae Costin. However, at that time the central authorities could not decide upon the beginning of the constructions nearby the circus on an area of 130 hectares because they could not find 7 million dollars for demolishing several old houses and after offering new dwelling places to the owners. Later, the project could not be implemented because of numerous reasons, neither in the “La izvor” park of the Sculeni district on a territory of 110 hectares. At present, in the same zone of the “La Izvor” park, the local authorities must find new territories in order to provide those 110 hectares needed for the project’s implementation, because, recently several territories destined to the project were given in use to some economic agents for constructing other edifices. Filip said that the local authorities will try to replace the territories with the neighboring territories of the Tractors Plant, which is nearby. Until 1 June, the persons responsible for the project must present a more detailed plan and until 1 august to make a scale model. At these stages, says Filip “we will be open for valuable proposals for the improvement of the concept, which can be formulated by the Mayoralty, Presidency and architects” The project “Trei Iezi Village” includes the reproduction of the parent’s house from Humulesti of Ion Creanga and the hovel from Ticau. On the fence of the village the parent’s houses of all the writers for children will be painted. At the same time, there will be constructed a Sunday Academy for children and parents and different characters invented by Creanga will protect such constructions as the Water Mill, the Wind Mill, Pie Mill and an enormous library for children. As in any park for children, the amusement installations will be obligatory: from those for children to a rollercoaster. At the moment the project has been elaborated, the investments were evaluated at 200 million dollars. But now the expenses could be bigger, taking in consideration the rise in price of the constructions. More, the expenses could grow if the investors will want to build a hotel, as previously planned. The construction works will be performed by “Satul Trei Iezi” joint-stock company, created for a long time, by Moldovan investors that will get back their investments, especially through the agency of the amusement installations.
