After a fierce competition and a rigorous selection process, the winners of the 2025 edition of the municipal competition "Teacher of the Year" have been announced. The contest, held in Chisinau municipality between January 15 and 31, brought to the forefront teachers who excel in dedication, innovation and educational performance, IPN reports.

The first place in the "Teacher of the Year" category went to Luminita Duminica, from the "Socrates" High School of Modern Languages and Information Technologies. And the "Educator of the Year" is Aliona Bors, from kindergarten No 225. In addition to public recognition, the winners were rewarded with cash prizes of 50 lei. Second and third place winners collected prizes of 25 thousand and 15 thousand lei respectively.

All laureates now have the opportunity to advance their careers by obtaining a higher teaching degree, which will enable them to continue their educational mission at an even higher level.

The competition aimed to recognize and promote excellence in education. The competition aimed both to enhance the prestige of the teaching profession and to strengthen respect for their work, thus stimulating self-training and continuous professional development, said a press release from the Chisinau City Hall.
