The International Women’s Club of Moldova organizes the „Night of Art” charity event
The International Women’s Club of Moldova (IWCM) organizes the „Night of Art” charity event on April 29 at Moldexpo, the event has the goal to showcase 85 works of Moldovan artists as well as raise money to support local charities.
For the first time the idea of holding the event came from the US Ambassador to Moldova and a member of the IWCM, Heather Hodges. The Night of Art is organized by IWCM, but it could only happen thanks to the help and generosity of Moldovan sponsors who have donated money, food and drink to the event, such as
Carlevana Winery, Acorex Winery, Nobil Club, Efes-Vitanta Moldova Brewery, New York Restaurant, Nistru Bakery, patisserie Delice d’Ange, Symposium Restaurant, the Dedeman Hotel and Xerox Company. The artists expressed their availability to donate 25% of their art sales.
In the last year, over $8000 was raised during the same event. The money covered the costs of the renovation of the Pediatric Ward at the Floresti Hospital. This year the money rose through the sale of the tickets for the event and the sale of art at the event will be given to the Oncological Institute of Moldova.
The tickets for the “Night of Arts” cost $10 USD or 130 Lei.
IWCM hopes that the event will increase awareness of the magnificent art available here in Moldova as well as to raise money for a worthy cause.
IWCM is present in Moldova since 1997. The organization has 70 memebers from 20 countries that speak on 20 different languages. The members of this Club share a desire to communicate, make friends and to promote intercultural tolerance.
