Starting with June 1, the heads of the ministries and other Governmental structures will be obliged to present monthly, to the president of the Republic of Moldova, reports regarding the specific measures undertaken for fighting corruption and proposals for the situation’s straightening out and inclusively proposals for legislation improvement of the named area. The solicitation, according to the presidency press-service, was made by the president Vladimir Voronin at a conference with the topic “Fighting and preventing corruption in the country”. The Cabinet of Ministers and the presidential councillors participated at the conference. If the analysis of these reports will show that the authors did not understand properly the problem, the most drastic measures will be taken, even the dismissal of the statesmen of any level, said the president. As well, he demanded the Government to present urgently proposals for the modification of the Law on declaration and control of the incomes and properties of the high officials, judges, prosecutors, public functionaries and of some persons with important positions. Vladimir Voronin solicited these actions, after ascertaining the “situation is not satisfactory in the area of corruption fighting and prevention”.
