The Agency for Construction and Territorial Development has a new director
The Agency for Construction and Territorial Development (ACDT) has a new director – Vladimir Baldovici. The Government approved on Wednesday, July 25 his appointment and as usual did not comment in any way on the decision. Also, the professional achievements of the new director were not presented.
Sources within ACDT told Info-Prim Neo that the new director did not work in the institution and they do not know were he comes from.
The name of Vladimir Baldovici was mentioned by the media on several occasions. Newspapers wrote that “Stayer” Ltd, headed by him, is the company which builds the new headquarters of the Party of Communists, and also reconstructs the Capriana Monastery. The same company renovated the National Palace last winter before the festival “Martisor 2006”. At the same time, the same company built the subsidiary of “Fincombank” in Cahul, one of the founders of which is the president’s son, Oleg Voronin, who is at present the president of the bank’s Board.
Baldovici was awarded the second degree church order “St. Stefan cel Mare” by Metropolitan Bishop Vladimir.
The director’s job of ACDT became vacant after the Government approved last week the resignation of Igor Semenovker. Two days later, the Supreme Security Council (CSS) of the President’s Office requested that the deputy-director Anatolie Izbanda be investigated over abuses at the implementation of the project on the supply of water in several settlements of Moldova. Izbanda also submitted a resignation request.
For a week, until the appointment of the hew director of ACDT, the ad-interim office will be held by Anatol Turcan, the second deputy-director of the Agency.
