From January 1, 2025, S.A. "Termoelectrica" will produce electricity to satisfy 26% of the country's needs. At present, the company supplies about 180 MW of electricity or over 4000 MWh/day and about 400 Gcal/h of thermal energy to consumers in Chisinau municipality. "Termoelectrica" said it is ready to cope with the current situation and ensure a normal and continuous functioning of the managed production sources, IPN reports.
The company reminds that it is the main producer of electricity in cogeneration regime, producer, distributor and supplier of thermal energy in the municipality of Chisinau. Before the state of emergency was declared, the company delivered annually to the National Energy System over 660 million kWh or 16% of the country's total consumption (excluding the Transnistrian region), and currently it operates in standard mode and produces about 180 MW of electricity.
The company’s general director Iurie Razlovan reported to the executive additional production capacities to ensure the continuous supply of heat and electricity in the municipality of Chisinau.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that "Termoelectrica" is ready to provide Chisinau with heat, as it is its responsibility. The company has sufficient capacities and, if necessary, will increase capacities, including for additional production of electricity.
The Premier noted that "in the current conditions, it is important to fully use our own electricity production and import capacities".
In a statement for the press, "Termoelectrica" said that extensive modernization and maintenance works were carried out during the year on the thermoelectric equipment used to produce thermal and electrical energy in cogeneration regime. Thus, all the three energy blocks operate in absolutely normal regime.
