Termocom wants more municipal money
Chisinau’s main heat distributor Termocom SA asks the municipality for 79 million lei more to cover heating-related expenses incurred last year.
Termocom commercial manager Mihai Arusoi stated during a meeting at the City Hall that the combined heat and power (CHP) plants will lower the temperature of the generated heat unless the debts are entirely cleared.
The distributor owes CHPs nearly 700 million lei, and 170 million lei more to the gas distributor Moldovagaz and water supplier Apa-Canal.
The AMN group in the City Council has recently urged the Council not to pay the heat distributor Termocom the money owed for covering part of the heating-related expenses unless the company gives heat to all the recipients of district heating. Today some 250 blocks of the existing 2,800 are still lacking heat in their radiators.
So far, the City Council has paid Termocom roughly 125 million lei to settle the debt.
Last week, Termocom said it would not connect the indebted blocks until they entirely cleared the debts. Otherwise, the heat distributor complained it would not be able to honour its liabilities to heat generators and keep a proper level of heat supply in the current heating season.
