Ten producers of honey from Moldova have the right to export to the EU market. Annually, the beekeeping sector produces an average of 3,700 tonnes of bee honey. Of this amount, almost 2,200 tonnes reach the EU, the main foreign market for Moldovan honey, according to a report for the last three years produced by the National Food Safety Agency, IPN reports.
The ten Moldovan honey producers entered the list of the EU's TRACES NT system (digital platform for importing products into the EU). Those that plan to export domestic bee products to the European Union must submit an application to the National Food Safety Agency for an authorization for exporting to the EU market.
The Agency said that the beekeeping production in Moldova develops constantly. There are 9,421 licensed beekeepers in Moldova and 3,319 of these have a legal form of activity.
