Teens drown in the Prut

Tragedy struck two families from Voinescu village of Hancesti district. Their children aged 11 and 15 drowned in the Prut River on the afternoon of May 9, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, locals saw how the boy entered the water and were taken by strong currents down the river.
The body of the 15-year-old boy was recovered on Thursday evening about 30 meters from the place where he entered the water. Frogmen have resumed the searches this morning. They found the body of the second boy about three hours later, at a distance of about 60 meters from the bank.
An investigation is underway to establish how the tragedy happened.
