The team of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) was eliminated from Moldova’s Basketball Cup after it lost both of the matches to BC Causeni, IPN reports.

USMF lost at home by 55-73 and was beaten away by 57-70. Basco Balti and Gamma Cahul also scored by two victories. They defeated Uniagro-Viking Chisinau and, respectively, Donbasket Donduseni. The encounter between Ciadar Lunga and UTM Chisinau was the most balanced match of the 1/8 finals. The team from Chisinau qualified for the quarterfinals owing to the better goal average.

The quarterfinals will consist of the following duels: Speranta - Basco, Soroca - UTM, Rabnita - Causeni and Bender - Gamma.
