From September 1, the teachers will receive the average salary throughout the school year, including for the vacation period. This is the payment for teaching degree, class work, test paper grading and classroom management. Until now, the teachers were paid for the vacation period only the main salary and the bonus for length of service, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Government will allocate 33 million lei from the state budget for the purpose. The decision was taken at the July 29 meeting of the executive. 27.2 million lei will be used to pay the bonus for teaching degree, about 3 million lei – for class work, 2 million lei – for grading test papers, and 400,000 lei for managing the classrooms. The Government also decided to adjust the salaries of instructors and expert masters. The salary for the personnel without vocational education will constitute 80% of the monthly salary of the teachers with vocational education, while for the personnel with incomplete higher education – 80% of the salary of the teachers with higher education. Premier Vlad Filat said the Government's initiative to pay salaries to teachers for the vacation period shows the country's economy is recovering after the crisis and the approved economic recovery and stabilization measures were appropriate. On January 1, 2011, teachers' salaries will be increased by 12.5%, while on September 1 – by another 12.5%.
